 Daniel Huntington (4 octubre 1816 hasta 19 abril 1906), artista estadounidense, nació en Nueva York, Nueva York, hijo de Benjamín, de Huntington, Jr. y la fe Trumbull Huntington, y su abuelo paterno era Benjamin Huntington, delegado en la Segundo Congreso Continental y el primer Representante de EE.UU. de Connecticut.
Desde 1833 hasta 1835 estudió en el Hamilton College en Clinton, Nueva York, donde conoció a Charles Loring Elliott, quien animó a Huntington para convertirse en un artista.
En 1835 estudió en la Universidad de Nueva York con Samuel FB Morse, y produjo "un político de Bar-Room" y "un borracho dormido." Expuso por primera vez su trabajo en la Academia Nacional de Diseño en 1836.
